we are back in business baby!

Right now im hard at work downloading servers to the server box so far we have
zps
dod
left4dead
killingfloor

and we should be getting some other stuff soon
this is just downloading the material so if ppl wanted to they could put up servers
the server box was cut yesterday due to a failed payment that finally went through thx to klondor.

also we have 4 cpus its a quad core 2.4 ghz
now kf servers and hl1 mods dont use very much cpu
we have cpu 0 -3

the setup up im hoping will be
on cpu 1
pod 24 slot zps server
ctc 24 slot zps server
1 kf server
10 slot zps test server LOCKED

that would fill up cpu 1

im still learning alot about the server box

That's awesome, now we are in buisness! So If we have left over CPU space, we could use it to sell some servers. But, I say we would use this to help fund the server boxjust in case more "fuck ups" happen.

yea we have to be very careful with the cpu usage
if the cpu usage goes over in a core then all the servers on the server box lag
that is a big concern so we have to fit as many servers on a core as possible while maintaining a 10% amount of cpu on that core to allow for fluxuations (this is also on if the all the servers are totally full so for core 1 which would have the pod and ctc server
they possibility of both getting full is likely at one time or another
a zps server when full can use up to 40% of a core so we have 20% cpu left on that core
a kf 6 slot server only uses 5% around so we can put up 2 on core 1 as well as a 5 slot private zps test server that is locked
core 0 would perhaps be
dod 32 slots for ivg
dod 32 slots for jojo
shockvoice 50 slots (its like vent but better we cant host a ventrilo server that is more than 10 slots) Shockvoice is a free program that is alot better quality and also it has a whiteboard other users can use so you can play tic tac toe with your friends n draw stuff

hl1 mods and games dont use up much cpu or bandwith so as well as 2 dod servers a nother 1 or 2 can be fit in there
we then have 2 cores left up
tf2 server will most likely never go up i can assure you from the looks of things because it would take up most of a core

on the core 3 we can host a zmbe server later on and perhaps a
l4d server and a l4d2 server
that will only use maybe under 40% of that cpu so we still can experiment with mods and games.

also epic you will get access to the remote desktop and tc admin same with klondor
thing is just be careful and dont put up servers randomly we all have to plan this out

this is what i meant by being more challenging but hey we are going to get more servers so yay!


also remember more ppl on the servers = more cpu it takes up so only about 3-5 servers per core as a safe guard because when 1 cpu core gets overused all the servers lag
we still get a good amount of servers though

sweet getting some killingfloor action i have level 6 all but medic LOL . good to hear the server box is going ok.

lol same here, still a level 2 medic everything else is 6. so glad things are going smoother now then initial launch
